Istanbul: The Emirates Defence Companies Council (EDCC) is set to showcase the UAE National Pavilion at the forthcoming SAHA Expo 2024, a premier defence and aerospace exhibition scheduled from October 22 to 26. This event, which is held biennially in Istanbul, Turkey, represents a significant assembly for the global defence, aviation, and aerospace industries, attracting participation from over 124 countries and more than 150,000 visitors. According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE National Pavilion, organized by the EDCC, will cover an extensive area of 656 square meters, underscoring the UAE's growing influence in the global defence industry. The pavilion will feature leading national defence companies, including Halcon, Adasi, Al Tariq, and others under the EDGE Group, showcasing more than 50 products labeled "Made in the UAE". These products range from aerial and land systems to precision-guided munitions and secure communication solutions. Muammar Abdulla Abushehab, CEO of the Tawazun Council, emphasi zed the council's role in supporting the EDCC by providing resources to enhance the UAE's stature on the global stage. He noted that this support is part of a long-term strategy aligned with the visionary leadership of the UAE. Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairwoman of the EDCC, highlighted the significance of the UAE's participation, which not only showcases the latest products and technologies but also strengthens the UAE's position as a leader in the global defence industry. Al Jaber pointed out that the theme for this year's expo, "Touch The Game Changing Technologies," aligns with the UAE's focus on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence, which are pivotal in shaping future technologies. The expo is expected to host over 1,200 exhibitors and more than 400 official delegates, with around 20,000 meetings scheduled to occur over the five-day event. This participation not only enhances the UAE's defensive capabilities but also promotes strategic partnerships and opens avenues for national co mpanies in the European markets, according to Al Jaber.
