UAE President Attends BRICS Summit in Kazan for the First Time

KAZAN: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has arrived in Kazan to participate in the BRICS Leaders' Summit, marking the United Arab Emirates' inaugural participation as a member of the BRICS group. The summit, hosted by the Russian Federation, is scheduled to take place from October 22 to 24, 2024. According to Emirates News Agency, the theme of this year's summit, "Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security," aims to foster cooperation among the leaders and heads of government from BRICS nations, alongside representatives from invited states. The UAE's involvement underscores its growing role in international multilateral forums. The delegation accompanying President Sheikh Mohamed includes key figures such as H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs. The delegation also comprises Sheikh Mo hammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court, as well as several ministers and senior officials, highlighting the UAE's commitment to active participation in global dialogues.
