Jeddah:The UAE national football team launched their Gulf Cup 27 campaign with a decisive 4-0 win against Yemen at Alinma Stadium, King Abdullah Sports City.

According to Emirates News Agency, Nicol¡s Gim©nez initiated the scoring for the UAE in the 26th minute. The lead was extended when Yemen's Nader Sahl scored an own goal in the 36th minute, off a cross from Marcus Meloni. Luan Pereira secured the UAE's third goal in the first-half stoppage time.

Gim©nez struck again in the 52nd minute, sealing the UAE's fourth goal of the match.

This victory places the UAE at the top of Group B with three points, awaiting the outcome of the Qatar-Bahrain match. The UAE's next group match will be against Bahrain on Sunday at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.
