Tashkent: A significant UAE trade delegation, led by Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, explored extensive investment and partnership opportunities in Uzbekistan during the UAE-Uzbekistan Business Forum held in Tashkent. The event, spanning from October 14th to 16th, brought together 200 representatives from both countries to forge stronger commercial relationships. According to Emirates News Agency, the forum was organized by the Federation of UAE Chambers in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UAE. Dr. Al Dhaheri, who is also the First Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the strategic importance of Central Asian markets for UAE businesses, emphasizing the growth and development of trade relations between the UAE and Uzbekistan. These relations have seen UAE investments flourish across various sectors including energy, infrastructure, and logistics, with trade b etween the two nations reaching around US$1.9 billion. Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, noted the signing of six agreements with UAE business entities, which has led to over 320 Emirati-owned companies operating in Uzbekistan. These include more than 120 joint ventures and over 200 fully foreign-owned firms. Rasulov also pointed out Uzbekistan's economic policies that support entrepreneurship and ease business operations, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. The forum featured expert presentations on the Uzbek economy, investment opportunities, and logistics, aimed at informing the UAE delegation about the benefits of doing business in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the event facilitated over 125 bilateral meetings, underscoring the forum's role in enhancing direct communication and cooperation between UAE and Uzbek business leaders and officials.
