TUNIS: The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, has won the Best Operational Field Information Cooperation Award at the Arab, regional, and international levels for the seventh time. This prestigious accolade, issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, recognizes the UAE’s significant efforts to enhance joint Arab cooperation, facilitate the exchange of information, and its extensive work in combating drug-related crimes.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Mohamed bin Koman, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, presented the award to Brigadier General Abdulrahman Al Owais, Deputy Director General of the Federal Anti-Narcotics Department at the Ministry of Interior. The ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 38th Arab Conference of Heads of Anti-Narcotics Agencies, which took place at the General Secretariat headquarters in Tunis, Tunisia.
This achievement highlights the UAE’s continued efforts, supported by its wise leadership, in the
fight against drugs and psychotropic substances. The Ministry of Interior’s sustained cooperation with counterpart agencies across the Arab world and internationally has resulted in the detection and disruption of numerous drug smuggling and trafficking operations at both the Arab and global levels. This recognition affirms the UAE’s leadership and dedication in fostering international collaboration to combat drug crimes effectively.
