Erbil:The United States and its Coalition partners have formally concluded Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq, aligning with the September 2024 U.S.-Iraq joint statement and U.S. national interests.

According to Emirates News Agency, the conclusion of the military mission was marked by the orderly departure of Coalition forces and equipment from Erbil Air Base, signaling the successful end of efforts to defeat ISIS in Iraq.

Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell noted that this milestone reflects the success of a 12-year campaign that eliminated ISIS as an organized military threat in Iraq and the surrounding region. This transition moves from a wartime coalition mission to an Iraqi-led security effort, with continued support through a more standard bilateral security relationship.

The United States remains committed to supporting a strong, sovereign Iraq that secures its borders, protects its citizens, and lays the groundwork for enhanced commercial, diplomatic, and security cooperation between the two nations.
