New york: Major US stock indices rose on Wednesday, while US crude oil prices fell by more than US$6, with West Texas Intermediate reaching $95.45 per barrel.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 612 points to 49,910 points, up 1.24 percent. The technology-heavy Nasdaq index gained 512 points to reach 25,839 points, marking an increase of 2.02 percent. The Standard and Poor's (S and P 500) index also advanced by around 106 points to 7,365 points, up 1.46 percent.
