Gaza: The reconstruction of hospitals and medical practices in the Gaza Strip is projected to require several billion dollars, as reported by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Initial estimates indicate that approximately $3 billion will be necessary for the health sector over the next 18 months.
According to Emirates News Agency, the longer-term financial needs for a five to seven-year period could reach $10 billion. Rik Peeperkorn, the WHO representative for the Palestinian Territories, shared these figures during a recent WHO press conference.
“The destruction is so massive, I have never seen that anywhere in my life,” Peeperkorn remarked, underscoring the extensive damage and the substantial resources required for rebuilding the health infrastructure in Gaza.
