Dubai: In a significant development at GITEX 2024, Zayed University (ZU) and the UAE Cybersecurity Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cybersecurity education and prepare young Emiratis for future challenges in the digital sphere. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU underscores both institutions' commitment to strengthening the UAE's cybersecurity infrastructure by developing academic programs tailored to the evolving needs of the digital world. This partnership between Zayed University and the UAE Cybersecurity Council aims to foster educational initiatives, promote scientific research, and introduce advanced technological solutions to prevent cyber threats. Professor Michael Allen, Acting Vice President of Zayed University, stated that the joint effort is centered on empowering the Emirati youth, ensuring they are well-prepared to tackle and manage cybersecurity challenges effectively. The collaboration seeks to instill a deep understanding of cyber threats while equi pping students with robust preventative and responsive strategies. Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of the Cybersecurity Council, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership. He emphasized that integrating with educational and private sectors is crucial for nurturing a competent generation ready to safeguard the nation's digital domains against potential cyber threats.
