PM follows up progress in establishing 13 industrial complexes

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli held on Tuesday 5/7/2022 a cabinet meeting to follow up on progress in establishing and operating 13 industrial complexes in different governorates.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Trade and Industry Minister Nevine Gamea and Head of the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) Mohamed Al Zallat, as well as other officials.

Gamea said her ministry completed 81 of the 100 proposed measures to stimulate industry.

On his part, the IDA head reviewed a report showing that some 13 industrial complexes across the nation are being implemented, noting that they comprise 4,413 units.

Zallat said that seven industrial complexes were offered in 2020, adding that they include 1,083 units in the plastics, food, chemicals, engineering, metallurgical and textile industries and others

He added that six industrial complexes are being offered, explaining that they involve 2,556 units in the sectors of furniture, ready-made garments, engineering, building materials, pharmaceuticals and leather.
