Cold weather persists across Jordan

Jordan on Friday will remain under the impact of the cold air mass that pushed temperatures 7-8 degrees below the seasonal average, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
The weather will be cold in most regions while pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with clouds forming at low altitudes. There is a small chance of rain showers in the south, while winds will be northwesterly with strong gusts, blowing dust in the Badia.
The weather department issued warnings about poor horizontal visibility on mountain tops due to clouds and dust in the Badia.
On Saturday, the weather will get better and warmer but would remain below the average for this time of the year by 4-5 degrees, the JMD added.
Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 13 degrees Celsius and a low of 3C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 24C, sliding to 13C at night.
