Sports and Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhy has stressed that Tour de France is one of the world’s most popular sporting events.
The minister made his remarks on Tuesday 4/4/2023 at a meeting with officials from Stamina Sports and Fitness company at the Youth and Sports Ministry’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital to review Egypt’s preparations for hosting L’E´tape Egypt by Tour de France for the first time in Africa and the Middle East.
He pointed out that the hosting of this event reflects confidence in Egypt’s capabilities to organize the tournament successfully.
The event is set to be organized in the Egyptian coastal cities of Sharm El Sheikh and Dahab with the participation of more than 32 countries.
The meeting was also attended by a host of respective officials from the ministry and the company.
