Foreign ministry condemns bloody and barbaric Israeli incursion into Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho, killing of teen

The ministry of foreign affairs and expatriates condemned in a statement today the bloody and barbaric Israeli military incursion early morning today into Aqabat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho, resulting in the killing of a teenager and the injury of at least six others, including some seriously. The ministry also condemned the continued Israeli military siege on the city of Jericho for the past ten days. It slammed it as the most heinous forms of collective punishment against the defenseless Palestinian civilians. It confirmed that the crimes and violations of the Israeli occupation and settlers are a translation of the military and political instructions of the occupation state; which grants soldiers the green light to use live ammunition against Palestinians with the aim to kill. The ministry stressed that this is a direct result of the campaigns launched by more than one Israeli official and numerous extremist settler organizations that incite violence and murder. In result, Palestinians suffer more tension and hostile climates, stressed the ministry. The ministry stressed that it continues to follow up on the crimes and violations of the Israeli occupation and settlers at all levels, including at competent international courts. It maintained that the continued lack of accountability for Israel, the states and international community’s settling for mere statements of condemnation and the unimplemented UN resolutions encourage the occupation to persist on carrying out more of its expansionist colonial projects. They also encourage the occupations’ creeping and silent annexation of the occupied West Bank land, as well as to commit more crimes against the Palestinian people.
