Israeli occupation forces demolish Palestinian house near Ramallah under pretext of building in Area C

The Israeli occupation forces today demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah, under the pretext it was built in Area C of the occupied West Bank without a permit from the Israeli military government.
Umm Safa village council head, Marwan Sabah, told WAFA that the occupation forces stormed an area east of the village and proceeded to demolished a 200-square-meter house still under construction owned by a local resident under the pretext it was being built in Area C.
He said the occupation forces also bulldozed agricultural lands and roads in the area.
Residents confronted the soldiers who fired a barrage of toxic tear gas and stun grenades at the people, causing suffocation cases but no serious injuries.
The Israeli military controls Area C, which makes up over 60 percent of the area of the occupied West Bank, and does not allow any Palestinian development in this area.
