Local hotel occupancy rates of all categories during the current weekend reached 72% in Aqaba, 63% in Amman, 55% in the Dead Sea, and 31% in Petra. In a statement to “Petra” on Thursday, vice president and spokesperson for Jordan Hotels Association (JHA), Hussein Hilalat, said occupancy rates in 5-star hotels stood at 87% in Aqaba, 62% in Amman, 61% in the Dead Sea, and 40% in Petra. Meanwhile, Hilalat noted occupancy rates of the 4-star hotels in Aqaba stood at 70%, Amman at about 70%, Dead Sea at 49% and Petra at 37%.
