Dubai: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) is currently showcasing a series of advanced digital solutions and innovative services at GITEX GLOBAL 2024, demonstrating a significant leap in digital transformation efforts and technological integration within its operations. According to Emirates News Agency, Fahad Al Hammadi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at MoEI, highlighted the Ministry's commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies. Al Hammadi detailed several key initiatives, including a Metaverse platform with dual tracks for employees and customers, a Digital Twin Platform for operational efficiency, and an Open Data Portal offering access to over 200 sets of data across 10 sectors. These initiatives are designed to enhance service delivery, improve performance management, and foster transparency. "The Ministry has a diverse range of digital platforms and innovative services on display. These include the Metaverse platform that has two tracks: one for employees , enabling them to host meetings and events virtually, and the other for customers, enabling them to access the Ministry's services using the UAE Pass," Al Hammadi explained. Moreover, the Digital Twin Platform, showcased at the event, is designed to create accurate digital models of assets and operational facilities. This platform facilitates the transfer of live data and information to simulate behavior and monitor operations, which helps in understanding, improving performance, and managing more efficiently while identifying potential malfunctions and predicting risks. Additionally, Al Hammadi introduced the Open Data Portal and the Data Bridge. The Open Data Portal provides over 200 sets of open data divided across 10 key sectors within the energy and infrastructure fields, aimed at enhancing transparency and driving innovation. The Data Bridge is designed to streamline the customer journey, reduce document requirements, and shorten service delivery times. It targets to connect digitally with 50 governm ent entities and achieve a 90% customer satisfaction rate by providing data once by the end of 2025, and to halve the number of required documents by the end of the next year. The exhibition also features the Manzili bundle of housing services, part of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme. This bundle simplifies the application process for housing services, reducing the number of involved entities, required documents, and procedural steps significantly, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience.
