NABATIEH: The southern Lebanese town of Nabatieh conducted a funeral on Friday for 17 individuals, including 16 casualties from an Israeli airstrike on the municipal building and neighborhoods last Wednesday, along with another individual recently killed in a separate attack. The ceremony was marked by sorrow and solidarity as residents gathered to pay their respects. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the 17 bodies were presented at the Rawdat al-Salihin mosque, where a large assembly of people from Nabatieh and surrounding regions attended the somber event. The ceremony was led by Sheikh Abdul Hussein Sadiq, who conducted the prayers before the coffins were carried by mourners to their final resting place. In a poignant act of unity, the victims were interred in a single mass grave. The incident has intensified existing tensions in the region, drawing attention to the ongoing conflict and its devastating impact on civilians. The funeral served as both a memorial for the deceased and a demonstrat ion of communal resilience in the face of adversity.
