Dubai: The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has reported a significant expansion in its drone ecosystem for the period of 2023-2024, highlighting substantial increases in registered drone pilots and firms, alongside a sharp rise in monthly drone operations. According to Emirates News Agency, the number of registered drone pilots has surged by 76 percent. Additionally, there has been a 53 percent increase in the number of registered drone firms and a 75 percent rise in the frequency of monthly drone operations. This growth is indicative of Dubai's robust technological framework and its role in enhancing air transport and logistics services. The increase also reflects the strong investor confidence and commercial interest in the drone sector, which is seeing its scope and impact broaden across various fields. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of the DCAA, emphasized the strategic efforts behind these advances. "This remarkable growth underscores the efforts made to develop the drone ecosystem in Dubai and demonstrates our commitment to driving innovation that propels the future of air transport.
