FUJAIRAH: The inaugural edition of the Fujairah Children's Book Fair concluded with a total of 10,000 visitors, marking a successful debut under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah. The event, organized by the Higher Committee of Fujairah Children's Book Fair and Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, took place at the Al Bayt Mitwahid Hall from October 13 to October 19. According to Emirates News Agency, the book fair featured a comprehensive cultural agenda with over 87 activities, including ten panel discussions, 43 literary events, and 34 workshops. The event was attended by 40 publishers from the UAE and abroad, who showcased a wide range of educational, cultural, and artistic books. The fair, themed "Create the Future with Imagination," was divided into four zones-Imagination, Adventure, Creativity, and Future-designed to foster creative thinking and learning among children. Throughout the seven-day event, the fair drew school students, families, and lite rature enthusiasts, highlighting a strong interest in young adult and children's literature. The fair's programs included interactive workshops and panel discussions on art, philosophy, story creation, and more, with a focus on promoting reading among youth and enhancing skills for people of determination. The fair also launched the Upcoming Author competition, recognizing young writing talent, and hosted book signings with authors in Arabic and English. Nasser Al Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, emphasized the fair's success in bringing together intellectual and cultural figures and its role in promoting reading and supporting young creative minds in Fujairah. Al Yamahi expressed gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi for his support and noted the fair's significance as a leading cultural event in the emirate. Looking ahead, Al Yamahi anticipates growth in future editions, with plans to expand exhibition space and services for exhibitors.
