RAS AL KHAIMAH: Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi inaugurated the Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) at the Zayed Educational Complex in Ras Al Khaimah. The event, which is the world's largest digital and radio scouting gathering, encourages friendship and global citizenship among scouts worldwide. Thousands of scouts participate through the internet or amateur radio, engaging in activities that promote cultural exchange. According to Emirates News Agency, the event was organized under the theme "Scouts for a Greener World" by the Emirates Scout Association in collaboration with the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM), the Ministry of Education, Emirates Amateur Radio Society, and Ras Al Khaimah Scouting Commission. It drew 200 scouts and guides in person and 5,000 participants online for the two-day event. Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi commended the global scouting camp, highlighting its role as a unique platform for youth to experience diverse cultures through c ommunication with peers worldwide. Dr. Salem Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Scouts Association, noted that JOTA-JOTI is an annual event that connects over 2 million scouts each October, offering a weekend dedicated to scouting and friendship. Participants from over 174 countries learn about communication technology and engage with fellow scouts. The Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) is an annual scouting event utilizing amateur radio to connect scouts globally. It occurs on the third full weekend of October, concurrently with the Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI).
