ABU DHABI: In a significant move to bolster the healthcare infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, e and UAE, the telecommunications division of e and , has joined forces with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH). The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Global 2024 to improve the connectivity of healthcare facilities through the Sahatna app, a digital platform designed to assist residents in managing their health. According to Emirates News Agency, the MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, by Ibrahim Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Digital Health at DoH, and Haitham Abdulrazzak, Chief Business Officer of e and UAE. The collaboration will see e and UAE deploy SD-WAN technology solutions to facilitate seamless communication between the app and healthcare facilities throughout Abu Dhabi. This initiative aims to streamline information exchange between patients and healthcare providers, enhancing the overall healthcare experience. The S ahatna app offers users straightforward access to various health and wellness services, including appointment scheduling, teleconsultations, health record access, and genomic wellness reports. The app's development aligns with the Department of Health's mission to create a comprehensive digital healthcare infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, placing patients at the forefront by improving access, quality of care, and personalized health services. Ibrahim Al Jallaf emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating that the partnership reflects the UAE's commitment to developing a robust digital healthcare environment. He noted that Abu Dhabi is advancing as a global healthcare leader, focusing on patient care and public health management.
