FUJAIRAH: The consultative committee for the Fujairah International Monodrama Festival 2025 convened its second meeting to advance preparations for the upcoming event scheduled for April 2025. The festival will occur from April 10 to 18, 2025, under the theme "Fujairah is an Open Stage." According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Court in Fujairah and Chairman of the Festival. During the session, several work committees were established. Al Dhanhani introduced an initiative to produce a monodrama performance to be showcased by Arab theatre artists. The committee also recommended selecting an internationally prominent figure to be named as the personality of the festival. Additionally, plans were made to sign a cooperation agreement with the Paris-based International Theatre Institute (ITI). The Fujairah International Monodrama Festival has positioned itself as a gathering point for significant theatre artists, experts, and institutions. Or ganized biennially by the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, the festival aims to promote monodrama (solo performance) within the Arab and global theatre communities, particularly in the Emirati theatre scene. It endeavors to create optimal conditions for the development of this theatrical art, supporting talented young individuals capable of advancing it. The festival provides an environment conducive to the growth and flourishing of monodrama by presenting performances that adhere to artistic standards. It features participation from the UAE, Arab countries, and international performers. Alongside the performances, the festival hosts applied seminars and educational panel discussions to further enrich the event.
