DUBAI: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has given the green light to a series of projects aimed at accelerating the growth of startups, nurturing national talent, and fostering innovation in the UAE. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to position Dubai as a global leader in technology and innovation, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33's goals to double the city's GDP by 2033. According to Emirates News Agency, the approved projects were discussed during a meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology Development and Digital Economy. The committee presented a report on the progress of existing projects and outlined future plans. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE's commitment to becoming a leader in the digital economy, driven by a strategic vision to achieve global competitiveness. The initiatives include transforming government assets into business ventures, enhancing national tech skills, and supporting startup growth. Notable projects are the Government Venture Building Program, the National Tech Skills Enhancement Program, and the IGNYTE digital platform. Furthermore, CleanScape, a technology-driven urban management project, aims to preserve Dubai's aesthetic appeal. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the importance of investing in young Emiratis to build a sustainable digital economy. He urged government teams to expedite the implementation of these projects, emphasizing collaboration across entities to reinforce Dubai's leadership in innovation. The meeting also covered updates on key initiatives like the Dubai AI Campus, which has attracted 130 startups, and the Expand North Star event, a major platform for startups and investors. The projects are designed to support the UAE's development goals and solidify Dubai's status as a global hub for future industries.
