MOSCOW: Russia has reported a significant increase in natural gas production for the first three quarters of 2024, with output reaching 420 billion cubic meters, marking a 10.3 percent rise compared to the same period last year. This growth comes despite a slight dip in September's production figures compared to August. According to Emirates News Agency, data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat) indicates that in September alone, gas production was recorded at 43 billion cubic meters. This figure represents a 2.8 percent decrease from August but shows a 7.1 percent increase from September 2023. Furthermore, the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) also saw an uptick. Between January and September 2024, LNG production reached 25.3 million tons, reflecting a 7.1 percent increase from the same period in the previous year. In September, LNG output was 2.9 million tons, which is 5.8 percent higher than in September 2023 and 0.9 percent more than August 2024.
