BEIRUT: The Israeli military has intensified its operations in southern Lebanon, conducting a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling that have left five people dead. The violence unfolded across multiple towns, including Aita al-Shaab, Ramieh, and Khiyam, as tensions in the region continue to escalate. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Israeli forces began their assault early Wednesday, targeting Aita al-Shaab with explosions focused on the old town area. Artillery shelling was reported in the towns of Ramieh, Aita al-Shaab, and Al-Qouzah, all situated in the Bint Jbeil district. The town of Sarbin in Tyre also came under attack from enemy aircraft, while in Marjeyoun, the town of Khiyam was targeted by Israeli artillery. In Nabatieh, Israeli warplanes executed a double air raid around 1 p.m., impacting the Tablain Street area behind the Regie tobacco company in Kfar Rumman. Earlier airstrikes on Sarbin resulted in the deaths of five individuals. Further attacks included airstrikes on th e towns of Al-Shahabiya and Al-Haniyah in Tyre, and two air raids on the outskirts of Libbaya in the Western Bekaa. The escalation in military actions has heightened security concerns in the region, with local authorities and international observers closely monitoring the situation.
