ABU DHABI: Members of the Global Government Leaders Programme recently visited the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) as part of a series of field tours to key government entities across the United Arab Emirates. The delegation examined the global best practices employed by ADFD in financing development projects and supporting the UAE's economy through various innovative programmes. According to Emirates News Agency, Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ADFD, welcomed the delegation and outlined the Fund's role in advancing the UAE's foreign aid policy. He highlighted ADFD's commitment to sustainable development by financing infrastructure projects in areas such as renewable energy, healthcare, education, and women's empowerment. Al Suwaidi emphasized that these efforts contribute to economic prosperity and social development in partner countries. The delegation was also briefed on major projects funded by ADFD over the years, learning about the initiatives that have improved living conditions an d promoted economic stability globally. Al Suwaidi further elaborated on the Fund's support for the UAE's economy by financing local companies and projects aimed at diversifying income sources and enhancing the global competitiveness of Emirati exports. Programme members expressed appreciation for ADFD's contributions to sustainable development and economic growth, particularly its role in financing critical projects that improve quality of life and build a sustainable future. They also acknowledged the Fund's investments in innovation and technology, which strengthen economic competitiveness in developing countries. The Global Government Leaders Programme, which includes participants from 31 countries, aims to equip leaders with skills to anticipate global trends, adapt to advanced technologies, and respond to emerging challenges. It seeks to foster a network of visionary leaders who collaborate on strategic opportunities for international cooperation.
