Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), in collaboration with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), announced the closure of 77 social media accounts for violations during the first half of this year. This decisive action followed investigations revealing these accounts were operating unofficially and without the necessary licence from the Ministry to conduct domestic worker recruitment activities, marking a clear breach of legal regulations.
According to Emirates News Agency, MoHRE is urging employers, as well as Emirati and resident families, to engage solely with licenced and approved domestic worker recruitment agencies. The Ministry emphasized the importance of avoiding interactions with social media accounts and pages that promote the recruitment of illegal domestic workers. This caution is aimed at safeguarding customers' legal rights, which are protected when dealing with Ministry-licenced and approved agencies.
In a press statement, the Ministry clarified the potential consequences of engaging with unlicensed domestic worker recruitment agencies and unreliable social media pages. Such interactions could result in customers losing their legal rights, which are otherwise guaranteed through exclusive dealings with Ministry-licenced and approved agencies.
