Manila: NMDC Group, a global leader in engineering, procurement, construction, and marine dredging, announced today the signing of a contract with the Pasay Harbor City Corporation (PHCC) to undertake large-scale dredging and land reclamation activities in Manila Bay, Philippines.
According to Emirates News Agency, the project, valued at US$610.1 million, will span thirty months and cover approximately 130 hectares of island reclamation. This initiative is part of a development project aimed at constructing a new eco-friendly, waterfront city. The project’s scope includes sand supply, dredging and reclamation, vertical drains installation, vibro compaction, and rock placement.
Eng. Yasser Zaghloul, Group CEO of NMDC Group, expressed that entering the Philippines market aligns with NMDC Group’s strategic expansion into Southeast Asia. He emphasized the company’s commitment to applying its expertise in innovative and sustainable projects that benefit communities and industries.
Manuel S. Gonzales, President of PHCC, conveyed enthusiasm about collaborating with NMDC Group, noting the company’s impressive global track record in delivering successful projects. He anticipates that the partnership will realize the vision of creating a new eco-friendly, waterfront city.
This collaboration marks NMDC Group’s inaugural large-scale project in the Philippines and follows a series of announcements by the company, highlighting its growing project portfolio in Asia.
