Joint Statement by Foreign Ministers Welcomes Hamas’ Steps on Trump’s Gaza Proposal


Abu dhabi: The Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Trkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have expressed their support for Hamas’ recent actions concerning U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the conflict in Gaza. The ministers have welcomed the steps taken by Hamas towards releasing hostages and initiating negotiations for implementing the proposed peace mechanisms.



According to Emirates News Agency, the ministers also praised President Trump’s call for Israel to cease its bombing activities and to commence the execution of the exchange agreement. They conveyed their appreciation for his dedication to establishing peace in the region, underscoring the potential for these developments to lead to a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire while addressing the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.



Furthermore, the Foreign Ministers expressed their approval of Hamas’ announcement of its willingness to transfer Gaza’s administration to a transitional Palestinian Administrative Committee composed of independent technocrats. They stressed the urgency of initiating negotiations to finalize implementation mechanisms and address all facets of the proposal.



The ministers reiterated their collective commitment to support efforts aimed at ending the war on Gaza promptly and achieving a comprehensive agreement. This includes ensuring unrestricted humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza, preventing the displacement of Palestinians, securing the safety of civilians, facilitating the release of hostages, reinstating the Palestinian Authority in Gaza, unifying Gaza and the West Bank, and establishing a security framework that guarantees the safety of all parties. These efforts aim to lead to a full Israeli withdrawal, the reconstruction of Gaza, and a pathway to a just peace based on the two-state solution.
