Abu dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has honoured several leading companies with the Sustainability Label, during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. This recognition is part of the Chamber's commitment to promoting sustainable business practices and enhancing the competitiveness of private-sector companies in accordance with the UAE's national priorities for sustainable economic development.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Sustainability Label Programme is a flagship initiative by the Abu Dhabi Chamber designed to embed sustainability standards across the business community. It encourages companies to adopt responsible practices in environmental, social responsibility, and governance areas. The programme helps companies strengthen their credibility and expand their growth potential in both local and international markets.
The diversity of recognised companies underscores the integration of sustainability practices within Abu Dhabi's economic landscape. This evolution marks sustainability as a key factor in institutional performance, risk management, and long-term value creation, rather than a discretionary practice.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber highlighted its role as a strategic partner to the private sector, emphasizing the importance of recognising companies awarded the Sustainability Label. This initiative supports companies in navigating global economic shifts and embedding sustainability as a core element of growth and competitiveness strategies.
Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, stated, "The Abu Dhabi Chamber believes that sustainability has become a fundamental pillar for building a competitive economy capable of keeping pace with future transformations. Honouring companies that have received the Sustainability Label reflects the Chamber's commitment to supporting the private sector and encouraging companies to adopt responsible practices."

It helps companies measure their maturity in sustainability practices, identify development priorities, and transition towards sustainable operations.
The programme also offers advisory support and tools to enhance companies' credibility and access to financing and investment opportunities. Companies from a broad range of sectors were recognised for their commitment to sustainability standards and institutional readiness.
