Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the exchange of agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation between the UAE and India as part of their strategic partnership.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreements signed during Prime Minister Modi's official visit to the UAE include a Strategic Collaboration Agreement between Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL) and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and another agreement between Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and ADNOC on Liquified Petroleum Gas supplies. These agreements were exchanged by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Group CEO of ADNOC, and Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary of India.
Furthermore, an Agreement on the Framework for the Strategic Defence Partnership was signed between the UAE's Ministry of Defence and India's Ministry of Defence, exchanged by Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi and Vikram Misri. Additionally, a Term Sheet for establishing an 8-Exaflop Supercomputing Cluster in India was exchanged between G42 Group, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing.
In maritime cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Cochin Shipyard Limited and Drydocks World to set up a Ship Repair Cluster at Vadinar, along with a separate MoU on Skill Development in Ship Repair involving the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding.
The two nations also announced significant investments, including Emirates NBD's AED 11.02 billion investment to acquire a 60% stake in RBL Bank, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority's AED 3.67 billion investment in India's National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, and International Holding Company's AED 3.67 billion investment in Sammaan Capital.
