Abu dhabi: More than 11,000 European companies operate in Mexico, supporting over five million direct and indirect jobs, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced at the EU-Mexico summit. This statement followed the signing of significant trade agreements between Europe and Mexico.
According to Emirates News Agency, Europe is the second-largest destination for Mexican exports. The recent agreements, the Modernised Global Agreement (MGA) and the interim Trade Agreement (iTA), mark a significant step forward in the partnership between the EU and Mexico.
During the 8th EU-Mexico Summit in Mexico City, both parties agreed to enhance their political and economic cooperation amidst global uncertainties. Von der Leyen emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that the modernized agreements align with a shared vision for the future and promise numerous benefits for both sides. The agreements aim to boost trade and investment, consequently supporting jobs and growth, while fostering cooperation across various policy areas.
