Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Kazakhstan explored ways to expand bilateral cooperation and exchange expertise and best practices in the consular field during a meeting between Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Arman Issagaliyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, at the Ministry's headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting was attended by Sheikha Hissa bint Sultan Al Nahyan, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with officials from both sides. Alshamsi underscored the depth of bilateral relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan, highlighting their continued growth across various fields, driven by the vision and friendship of the two countries' leaderships.
He emphasized the growing ties between the peoples of both countries and expressed a desire to build on the outcomes of the fourth session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Consular Committee, held in Astana in May 2026, to further advance consular cooperation. Sheikha Hissa bint Sultan Al Nahyan highlighted the UAE's ongoing efforts to enhance consular services, stressing the importance of sustained coordination and communication in delivering services that meet the evolving needs of citizens from both countries.
Issagaliyev commended the UAE's progress in government services and technology adoption, praising efforts to simplify procedures and enhance consular work efficiency. He expressed Kazakhstan's interest in learning from the UAE's experience to advance the consular partnership between the two countries.
The Kazakh delegation was introduced to the UAE Smart Mission model, an innovative project that uses advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to deliver proactive consular solutions. The two sides discussed the future of consular work amid digital transformation and the potential of artificial intelligence to enhance service efficiency. They reaffirmed their commitment to further developing the consular partnership and exploring new areas of cooperation.
