Bern:Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre is strengthening its cultural and civilisational presence in Switzerland through its 'Jusoor' programme. The initiative, coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in Switzerland, spans from the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) headquarters in Bern.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Centre unveiled a model of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the Rowland Hill Room at the UPU headquarters, a United Nations specialised agency. This unveiling is part of an ongoing initiative, started in 2012, to display Mosque models and the Centre's publications at UAE embassies and cultural institutions worldwide, promoting messages of coexistence and tolerance.
The visit to Switzerland also included presenting a working paper at the Academy of Architecture and hosting the 'Spaces of Light Photography Award' exhibition. The paper, titled 'Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre A Place for All,' explored the Mosque's architectural arts and its role as an inclusive space for learning about Islamic culture. Additionally, meetings with cultural and dialogue institutions were held, underscoring the Centre's commitment to fostering intercultural understanding.
