London: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jonathan Powell, the UK National Security Adviser, in London to discuss key regional developments. The discussions primarily focused on the recent unprovoked attacks by Iran on UAE civilian sites and facilities using missiles and drones.
According to Emirates News Agency, Powell conveyed the United Kingdom's solidarity with the UAE and condemned Iran's actions. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed expressed gratitude for the UK's supportive stance, assuring that all residents and visitors in the UAE are safe. The talks also highlighted the implications of these Iranian attacks on international shipping, energy supplies, and the global economy. Both leaders explored ways to bolster international cooperation to protect maritime corridors and ensure the freedom of global trade.
Additionally, the meeting aimed at enhancing joint regional and international cooperation to strengthen security, peace, and stability across the region. The dialogue also touched on issues of shared interest concerning the strategic relations between the UAE and the UK.
