Abu Dhabi Customs Partners with Altana Technologies to Enhance Global Trade Operations


Abu dhabi: Abu Dhabi Customs has signed a ‘Letter of Intent for Cooperation’ with Altana Technologies to leverage artificial intelligence in enhancing resilience, security, and sustainability in international trade operations.



According to Emirates News Agency, the signing ceremony was witnessed by Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), and Amna Binzaal Al Mheiri, UAE Consul-General in New York. It took place on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum (ADIF) in New York, marking a significant step in advancing Abu Dhabi’s global trade role.



The agreement was signed by Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Evan Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Altana Technologies. Both parties expressed their commitment to exploring joint initiatives that aim to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global trade hub while supporting Altana’s mission of building trusted and inclusive digital trade networks.



Altana Technologies specializes in AI-driven supply chain visibility solutions, which enable trusted data-sharing and utilize advanced analytics to help businesses and governments manage risks, promote compliance, and strengthen supply chain resilience.



Al Mansoori emphasized that the cooperation aligns with Abu Dhabi’s strategy to reinforce its status as a prominent logistics and trade hub. He highlighted the aim to embrace innovation and digital transformation to enhance competitiveness, reduce risks, and facilitate smoother and more reliable trade flows.



Smith expressed honor in partnering with Abu Dhabi Customs to build AI-enabled trusted trade networks. He noted that the collaboration would lead to the creation of resilient, transparent, and sustainable supply chains benefiting economies and societies globally.
