ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has partnered with technology firm 7X, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to integrate the "Wayn" digital P.O. Box service into the operations of licensed businesses in the region. This collaboration aims to bolster the local economy by driving digital transformation and enhancing the security of postal services for companies and individuals. According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was inked today by Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Business Centre, and Abdullah Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of 7X, at the Department of Government Enablement - Abu Dhabi booth during GITEX Global 2024. The partnership seeks to provide a reliable communication channel for businesses, enabling them to manage documents, invoices, and parcels more efficiently. By integrating the Wayn platform, companies will be able to cut delivery times by up to 70 percent and reduce costs by approximately 65 percent. The Wayn serv ice offers a permanent UAE digital address linked to physical addresses and verified through national ID or the National Economic Register. This initiative not only ensures the secure and reliable receipt of shipments and official documents but also protects users from cybersecurity threats such as phishing and spam. By subscribing to the MyHome Package service, users can opt to receive shipments at a physical address of their choice, further simplifying the logistics process. Mohammed Munif Al Mansouri emphasized the strategic importance of this initiative, stating that it is a crucial step towards enhancing Abu Dhabi's business ecosystem and establishing the emirate as a top destination for talent, businesses, and investment. He highlighted that this cooperation with 7X is part of broader efforts to accelerate digital transformation which is critical for improving operational efficiencies and providing high levels of cybersecurity. Abdullah Mohammed Alashram expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it aligns with 7X's commitment to driving business efficiency and fostering a cutting-edge digital environment across the UAE. He remarked that this collaboration would play a significant role in realizing Abu Dhabi's economic vision by advancing technological innovation and strengthening the nation's digital communication infrastructure.
