Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi Unveils Advanced “Bayaan” Platform at GITEX Global 2024

ABU DHABI: The Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has introduced the latest iteration of its Bayaan Platform at GITEX Global 2024 in Dubai, marking a significant advancement in data analytics designed to support government decision-making with real-time insights and extensive analytical capabilities. According to Emirates News Agency, the new Bayaan Platform was launched as part of Abu Dhabi Government's pavilion at the GITEX event, which took place from October 14th to 18th. The platform is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of government operations by providing decision-makers with comprehensive statistical indicators and interactive insights essential for strategic planning and policy development. This initiative underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to becoming a leader in digital transformation and data-driven governance. Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, SCAD's Director-General, emphasized the platform's role in showcasing Abu Dhabi's leadership in the data landscape and its contribution to innovative solutions t hat foster transformative socio-economic impacts. He highlighted the platform's alignment with the emirate's ambitious strategy and the vision of its leadership to enable effective data-driven policies. The Bayaan Platform offers advanced self-service features that allow users to create customized dashboards for visualizing data, facilitating scenario analysis, and predicting the impacts of various government policies and initiatives. It integrates cutting-edge machine learning techniques and modern data analysis tools, from data exploration dashboards for data preparation and processing to advanced analytical dashboards. Badria Abdalla Obaid, Executive Director of SCAD's Foresights and Communication Sectors, added that the integration of generative artificial intelligence solutions into the Bayaan Platform enables rapid, data-driven insights presented through interactive visual formats. She noted that the platform also provides access to geospatial data, enhancing the understanding of policy impacts across different regions of the emirate. In a move to democratize access to this pivotal data, SCAD has released a public version of the Bayaan Platform through a mobile application, making it accessible for individual and organizational use. The app aims to empower the community by providing access to statistical data for informed personal and community-level decision-making, with future updates expected to introduce generative AI features.
