ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2024 Secures Bronze Award at Leaders Conference


London: The sixth edition of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2024 has secured the Bronze Award in the ‘Fan Solution Category’ at the global sports leadership conference, Leaders, held in London. This accolade highlights the event’s success in enhancing the spectator experience and boosting community engagement, reinforcing its status as one of the leading running races both regionally and globally.



According to Emirates News Agency, the marathon, organized annually by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in partnership with ADNOC, has become a prominent sporting event in the capital, attracting participants from the UAE and abroad. The 2024 edition saw over 33,000 male and female runners from around the globe, including elite professionals, amateurs, and families, participating in various race formats from the full marathon to recreational and family runs.



The recent edition emphasized inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability. The event introduced initiatives to reduce plastic waste, manage environmental sustainability, and monitor carbon footprint, alongside community programs in schools and interactive social-media campaigns.



Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, stated that achieving this global award marks a new milestone for sports in Abu Dhabi. He expressed pride in the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon’s recognition at the sports leadership conference, attributing the success to the combined efforts of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, ADNOC, and all supporting entities. Al Hashemi emphasized the event’s commitment to providing a leading-edge sporting experience, centered on outstanding athletic performance, community participation, and sustainability.
