Munich: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in discussions with Ambassador Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, United States Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, during the Munich Security Conference.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on the cooperative relations between the UAE and the United States, alongside several pertinent issues and developments of mutual interest. Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized the robust strategic partnership between the UAE and the US, highlighting a shared commitment to fostering security, stability, and sustainable peace in the region. He stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation to serve the mutual interests of the two nations.
The dialogue also underscored the significance of the Abraham Accords as a framework for promoting dialogue, cooperation, and communication among peoples. This framework aims to consolidate the values of tolerance and coexistence while supporting opportunities for long-term security and stability.
The discussions further delved into US efforts to advance peace pathways, including President Donald Trump’s initiatives to reach a Gaza agreement. Both parties acknowledged the importance of building upon these efforts to support progress towards the next phase.
In this context, the importance of continued international coordination was highlighted, including through institutional mechanisms like the Peace Council. Such coordination aims to contribute to de-escalation, support humanitarian efforts, and create conditions necessary for lasting peace.
Al Nuaimi noted that parliamentary diplomacy plays a complementary role to official diplomacy by enhancing dialogue between countries and peoples and confronting extremism and hate speech. At the meeting’s conclusion, both sides reaffirmed the importance of sustained coordination and cooperation in support of peace and stability in the region.
