Ambassador Riyad Mansour demands urgent UN action to stop Israeli crimes

The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, has sent three identical letters to the UN Secretary-General, the President of the UN Security Council for this month (United Kingdom), and the President of the UN General Assembly, demanding an end to the ongoing human rights abuses, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinian people. Mansour stressed that the UN Security Council must intervene seriously to implement its resolutions, including Resolution 2334, all of which affirm the illegality of these Israeli policies and practices in occupied Palestine. Mansour also stressed that in the face of Israel’s continuing provocations, the UN Security Council and all relevant bodies of the United Nations, including the General Assembly, the Human Rights Council, the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice, must act immediately to ensure that Israel, the occupying power, is held to account, and that justice is achieved for the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and international protection.
