BEIRUT: House Speaker Nabih Berri held significant discussions with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Iraqi Deputy Speaker Mohsen Al-Mandalawi on Wednesday, focusing on Lebanon's current political situation and the escalating regional conflict. The meetings, which took place at Ain el-Tineh, underscored the international diplomatic engagements aimed at addressing the crisis. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the German Foreign Minister was accompanied by German Ambassador to Lebanon, Kurt Georg Stoeckl-Stillfried. The hour-long meeting centered around Lebanon's precarious situation amid the intensifying regional conflict. Baerbock left the meeting without providing a public statement, leaving the specifics of the discussions largely undisclosed. In a subsequent meeting, Berri hosted the Iraqi Deputy Speaker, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi. Al-Mandalawi briefed Berri on diplomatic initiatives intended to halt Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Gaza. He also emphasized Iraq's support for Leban on during the ongoing crisis. The dialogue further included a review of outcomes from the recent Inter-Parliamentary Union conference held in Geneva. Additionally, Berri conferred with Democratic Gathering bloc MP Wael Abou Faour.
