Marking the Hijri new year and Ashura commemoration, House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday said that “the values represented by these two blessed occasions in the history of humanity must be an example to follow in reform, uprightness, unity, and sacrifice for the sake of human dignity and the homeland, as the love of the homeland is a part of faith.”
On the other hand, Speaker Berri welcomed at his Ain al-Tineh residence, Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi of Syria and Iraq, as well as religious scholar, Sheikh Ali Bahsoun. He also received head of the State Shura Council, Judge Fadi Elias.
