China-Mongolia Border Port Reaches Milestone with 20,000 China-Europe Freight Trains

Erenhot: Erenhot, the largest land port on the China-Mongolia border, has achieved a significant milestone, recording 20,000 China-Europe freight train entries and exits since its service was launched in 2013, as reported by the China Railway Hohhot Group Co., Ltd. on Sunday.

According to Emirates News Agency, Erenhot port, located in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has witnessed substantial growth in the number of trains, destinations, frequency, and the variety of transported goods. This growth aligns with China's increasing efforts in international economic and trade cooperation.

The port reached its 10,000th entry and exit milestone in 2022, with the subsequent 10,000 freight trips completed in about three years. Initially, shipments primarily included metal, chemicals, and apparel products. However, the trains have now expanded to carry high-value-added goods such as new-energy vehicles, electronics, and household appliances.

Erenhot port is a crucial entry-exit point for the central corridor of the China-Europe railway service. It currently facilitates 73 routes connecting over 60 cities across 24 Chinese provincial-level regions to more than 70 stations in over 10 countries, including Germany and Poland.
