HAVANA, -- As part of a comprehensive agreement underway, a first two- ton shipment of Cuban vaccines for the Syrian people, subjected to a strict trade blockade, arrived at Damascus airport Monday.

Syrian Transport Minister, Ali Hamud, along with Deputy Health Minister, Huda al Saied, and Cuban ambassador to Syria, Rogerio Santana received a lot of the vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Hepatitis B and influenza.

Hamud said that this is the result of the cooperation among his Ministry, the Ministry of Health and the Cuban collaboration in an area of vital importance for Syria.

Not only the minister but also the Cuban ambassador agreed that this is a clear example of solidarity and support, which should continue and be intensified amid the unjustified boycott by the Western powers against Syria for four years.
