Aqaba: Jordan's commitment to promoting cultural values and development was highlighted as Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh inaugurated the 2nd Aqaba Cultural Forum. The event, themed "Royal Support for Culture," is part of the Kingdom's celebrations of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II. According to Jordan News Agency, the minister emphasized that the cultural advancements achieved under King Abdullah II's reign serve as a historical record and a legacy for future generations. Rawashdeh highlighted the King's vision of culture as a fundamental driver of social awareness, promoting values such as tolerance, partnership, and dialogue, while rejecting violence and extremism. These ideals are encapsulated in the King's Discussion Papers. The minister also pointed out King Abdullah II's focus on integrating economies of culture, artificial intelligence, and digitization, which are seen as crucial for the future of Jordan's youth. Emphasizing adherence to Jordan's heritage, Rawashdeh outlin ed that the Ministry of Culture's initiatives are aligned with the National Cultural Strategy and Jordan's Arab-Islamic identity. Rawashdeh further explained that the ministry's efforts are based on a comprehensive vision to build upon Jordan's cultural achievements over the past 25 years. This includes developing infrastructure such as cultural centers, as well as implementing publishing programs and organizing artistic festivals.
