Dubai: Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), recently engaged in a high-level discussion with Anne Le Guennec, CEO of Veolia’s Water Tech Zone, focusing on cooperation in sustainable water resource management. The meeting aimed to explore innovative water treatment technologies and smart solutions that align with the UAE and Dubai’s strategic goals for transitioning towards a green economy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions are part of ongoing efforts by DEWA and Veolia to strengthen partnerships, exchange expertise, and adopt global best practices in research, development, and technical innovation. Al Tayer outlined DEWA’s significant projects and initiatives in the water sector, such as desalination projects powered by clean energy, comprehensive digital transformation programs, and advanced smart monitoring systems. These initiatives are designed to optimize demand management and ensure resource sustainability.
Al Tayer emphasized DEWA’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with international partners to leverage advanced technologies in water resource management. This includes the use of artificial intelligence applications, predictive systems, and intelligent network control to ensure natural resource sustainability and high levels of operational efficiency. He also noted DEWA’s integrated approach to water management, which aims to improve operational performance, drive innovation in desalination using clean energy, and strengthen water security through diversified production sources and circular economy practices.
Le Guennec praised DEWA’s pioneering role in integrating innovation and sustainability into its strategies and projects. She affirmed Veolia’s eagerness to expand cooperation with DEWA, supporting Dubai’s journey towards a more sustainable future.
