DFSA and HKMA to Co-Host Climate Finance Conference in Dubai


Amman: The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) have announced that the second edition of the DFSA-HKMA Joint Climate Finance Conference will be held on 26th November in Dubai. This event marks a significant collaboration between two leading financial hubs, aiming to bolster climate finance efforts across the Middle East and Asia.



According to Emirates News Agency, the conference is a flagship initiative under the DFSA-HKMA partnership, focusing on the theme ‘Transforming Tomorrow: Harnessing Green Finance for Sustainability’. This theme underscores the commitment of Dubai and Hong Kong to drive global financial innovation and resilience through cross-border collaboration. Mark Steward, Chief Executive of the DFSA, emphasized the conference’s alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, aiming to enhance sustainable finance and innovation worldwide.



Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA, highlighted the importance of strengthening the Asia-Middle East Corridor to facilitate capital and knowledge exchanges that support sustainable regional development. The conference will feature a fireside chat between Steward and Darryl Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of the HKMA, discussing the role of technological innovation and policy frameworks in advancing climate finance.



High-profile speakers will participate in panel discussions on greening the Asia-Middle East Corridor and exploring how tokenisation can contribute to the global transition to net zero. Additionally, the conference will delve into findings from joint research by the DFSA and HKMA on sustainable debt’s role in scaling climate finance in emerging markets.
