DUBAI: Dubai Health has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership between Al Jalila Children's Hospital and Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. The collaboration, which has been ongoing for over eight years, aims to transform pediatric healthcare by incorporating advanced systems and specialized training to improve care quality. According to Emirates News Agency, the latest announcement follows a series of exchanges, including a recent visit by Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, to Children's National Hospital. During the visit, discussions centered on strengthening the partnership, with both parties visiting key facilities such as the Sheikh Zayed Institute for Pediatric Surgical Innovation and the Children's National Research Institute. The expanded collaboration will focus on areas such as data management and remote patient monitoring, while also launching comprehensive training programs for healthcare professionals at Al Jalila Children's Hospital. Starting next year, medical professionals from Al Jalila will receive advanced training at Children's National Hospital, adopting best practices and innovative care models to further enhance pediatric care standards. Michelle Riley-Brown, President and CEO of Children's National Hospital, emphasized the importance of the collaboration in building sustainable and innovative solutions to improve health outcomes for children globally. Dr. Amer Sharif highlighted the significance of the partnership, which aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, reinforcing Dubai's status as a leader in healthcare and scientific research. He expressed gratitude for the support of the UAE government in fostering global collaborations. Dr. Mohammed Al Awadhi, Deputy CEO of Al Jalila Children's Hospital, noted that the strengthened partnership will enhance operational efficiency in pediatric subspecialties and improve intensive care practices. The partnership dates back to 2018, when a health IT agreement was signed to bolster Al Jalila's capabilities. A sub sequent agreement in 2022 focused on education and consulting services, significantly enhancing clinical capabilities through specialized training for cardiac ICU nurses.
