CAIRO: Egypt State Information Service (SIS) affirmed that the greatest obstacle to the timely delivery of sufficient aid to Palestinians in Gaza during the 100 days of Israeli aggression was caused by the intentional intransigence of the Israeli occupation authorities that control the other crossings of the Strip.

SIS, in a statement, said the inspection process of the Israeli occupation, which maintains control over the crossings in and out of Gaza except for the one at Rafah with Egypt, was one of the great obstacles that caused setbacks in aid delivery.

SIS stressed that during the 100 days of the bloody Israeli war against the strip, the Egyptian side undertook maximum efforts for continued humanitarian and relief aid delivery into the Strip to help relieve the catastrophic humanitarian situation as a result of the vicious Israeli aggression.

It added that the entry of aid into the Strip through the Rafah crossing with Egypt faced primary obstacles since the beginning because it is inadequately prepar
ed and unassigned structurally for the entry of goods, but only for individuals, an obstacle which Egypt managed to overcome through urgent and intensive technical efforts to allow the passage of trucks.

SIS stressed that the Israeli occupation bombed access roads on the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing at least four times in its ongoing aggression, which impeded all movement. However, Egypt managed in a short time to fully repair the destruction, affirmed SIS.

It stressed that the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side has never been closed for a single moment, including before or during the aggression as confirmed in dozens of official statements issued in this regard, including by the Egyptian President, his foreign ministers, and relevant bodies, calling on the Israeli side to allow humanitarian aid to flow freely into Gaza and to cease the deliberate obstruction and delays on the entry of aid, under the pretext of inspection.
